Temporary Traffic and Transport Arrangements in Sha Tin and Tai Po to facilitate “2016 NIKE Women’s 10K”
Notice is hereby given that to facilitate “2016 NIKE Women’s 10K”, temporary traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented as below on 2 April 2016 (Saturday):
(I) Road Closure
The following road sections will be temporarily closed from 5.30 pm to 10.00 pm:
1. Chong San Road southbound between Fo Shing Road and Fo Yin Road; vehicles on Fo Shing Road westbound will be prohibited from left turn onto Chong San Road southbound;
2. Fo Yin Road eastbound; vehicles on Chong San Road northbound will be prohibited from right turn onto Fo Yin Road eastbound;
3. Fo Yin Road westbound between its cul-de-sac and Science Park East Avenue southbound;
4. Science Park East Avenue southbound;
5. Science Park West Avenue southbound between the roundabout outside IC Development Centre (Hong Kong Science Park Block 6W) and Science Park East Avenue roundabout;
6. Science Park East Avenue northbound between its roundabout and the section outside Green 18 (Hong Kong Science Park Block 18E);
7. Science Park Road southbound between the roundabout outside Bio-Informatics Centre (Hong Kong Science Park Block 2W) and Chak Cheung Street roundabout; vehicles on Chong San Road southbound will be prohibited from right turn onto Science Park Road southbound; and
8. Yat Cheung Street.
(II) Traffic Diversion
During the road closure period above, the following traffic diversions will be implemented:
1. Vehicles on Chong San Road southbound heading for Science Park Road will be diverted via Fo Shing Road eastbound, Fo Chun Road northbound, Chong San Road northbound, roundabout, slip road, Tolo Highway southbound, slip road, Chak Cheung Street roundabout near Science Park Road and Science Park Road northbound;
2. Vehicles on Fo Shing Road westbound or Fo Yin Road westbound heading for Science Park Road will be diverted via Chong San Road northbound, roundabout, slip road, Tolo Highway southbound, slip road, Chak Cheung Street roundabout near Science Park Road and Science Park Road northbound; and
3. Vehicles on Science Park West Avenue southbound heading for Science Park Road will be diverted via the roundabout outside IC Development Centre (Hong Kong Science Park Block 6W), Science Park West Avenue northbound, Fo Yin Road westbound, Chong San Road northbound, roundabout, slip road, Tolo Highway southbound, slip road, Chak Cheung Street roundabout near Science Park Road and Science Park Road northbound.
(III) Public Transport Service Arrangements
The following temporary public transport service arrangements will be implemented from 5.30 pm to 10.00 pm:
1. KMB route no. 74D (Kwun Tong Ferry bound) will omit Chong San Road and Science Park Road and will be diverted via Tolo Highway before resuming its original routeing; and all the en-route stops along Chong San Road and Science Park Road will be temporarily suspended.
2. KMB route no. 272A (University Station bound) will be diverted via Fo Shing Road westbound, Chong San Road northbound, roundabout, slip road, Tolo Highway southbound, slip road and Chak Cheung Street roundabout near Science Park Road before resuming its original routeing; and the en-route stops along Chong San Road and Science Park Road southbound will be temporarily suspended.
3. KMB route no. 272K (University Station bound) will be diverted via Science Park West Avenue northbound, Fo Yin Road westbound, Chong San Road northbound, roundabout, slip road, Tolo Highway southbound, slip road and Chak Cheung Street roundabout near Science Park Road before resuming its original routeing; and all en-route stops along Chong San Road and Science Park Road southbound will be temporarily suspended.
4. Green Minibus (GMB) route no. 27 (Sha Tin (Pai Tau Street) bound) will be diverted via Science Park West Avenue northbound, Fo Yin Road westbound, Chong San Road northbound, roundabout, slip road, Tolo Highway southbound, slip road, Chak Cheung Street roundabout near Science Park Road and Chak Cheung Street before resuming its original routeing; all the en-route stops along Chong San Road southbound between Fo Shing Road and Science Park Road and Science Park Road southbound will be temporarily suspended; and a temporary en-route stop will be designated at Fo Yin Road westbound near Chong San Road.
5. GMB route no. 27A (Sha Tin (Pai Tau Street) bound) will be diverted via Fo Shing Road westbound, Chong San Road northbound, roundabout, slip road, Tolo Highway southbound, slip road, Chak Cheung Street roundabout near Science Park Road and Chak Cheung Street before resuming its original routeing; and all en-route stops along Chong San Road southbound between Fo Shing Road and Science Park Road, Fo Yin Road eastbound and Science Park Road southbound will be temporarily suspended.
(IV) Suspension of Taxi Pick-Up Points and Parking Spaces
The following taxi pick-up points and parking spaces will be suspended from 12.00 noon to 10.00 pm:
1. The Urban and N.T. Taxi pick-up points at Sui Cheung Street; and
2. The disable vehicle parking space, metered parking spaces and motorcycle parking spaces at Yat Cheung Street.
(V) Attention and Appeal
Due to anticipated large amount of participants, members of the public are advised to use public transport services as far as possible to travel to the above affected areas.
Drivers of all motor vehicles, except franchised buses and emergency vehicles will be prohibited from driving into the above closed roads.
Appropriate traffic signs will be erected and motorists should exercise tolerance and patience in case of traffic congestion and take heed of instruction of the Police.
