ROAD TRAFFIC ORDINANCE (CHAPTER 374)
TEMPORARY SPEED LIMITS IN YUEN LONG

In exercise of the powers vested in me under section 40(2)(a) of the Road Traffic Ordinance, Chapter 374, I hereby direct that with effect from 1.00 a.m. to 5.30 a.m. daily on every Monday to Thursday (except public holidays) during the period from 30 March 2026 and 21 May 2026, the following sections of San Tin Highway, Tsing Long Highway and Yuen Long Highway will be temporarily subject to the speed limits as described below:

  1. The section of Yuen Long Highway northbound between about chainage marker 38.3A and about chainage marker 38.2A will be temporarily subject to a speed limit of 80 kilometres per hour;
  2. The section of Tsing Long Highway northbound between about chainage marker 27.2N and about chainage marker 37.6A will be temporarily subject to a speed limit of 50 kilometres per hour or 80 kilometres per hour;
  3. The section of San Tin Highway northbound between about chainage marker 37.6A and about chainage marker 32.7A will be temporarily subject to a speed limit of 50 kilometres per hour or 80 kilometres per hour;
  4. The section of San Tin Highway southbound between about chainage marker 31.9B and about chainage marker 37.6B will be temporarily subject to a speed limit of 50 kilometres per hour or 80 kilometres per hour;
  5. The section of Tsing Long Highway southbound between about chainage marker 37.6B and about chainage marker 38.2B will be temporarily subject to a speed limit of 50 kilometres per hour; and
  6. The section of Yuen Long Highway southbound between about chainage marker 38.2B and about chainage marker 40.1B will be temporarily subject to a speed limit of 50 kilometres per hour.

Appropriate traffic signs will be erected to guide motorists.

At the same time, the existing speed limits on the above road sections will be temporarily rescinded.
