There are about 4,000 parking spaces for private cars and 650 parking spaces for motorcycles in 10 Government multi-storey public car parks which have been managed by Transport Department's contractors since 1984.  Besides, there is an open-air car park managed by Transport Department which offers 25 parking spaces for coaches. With effect from 1 August 2018, Transport Department implemented a new Park-and-Ride scheme at the Po Shek Wu Estate Public Car Park, which offers concessionary parking fee for the Park-and-Riders, to encourage them to use railway services after parking, and reduce the number of vehicles entering the congested areas.  The Po Shek Wu Estate Public Car Park, which is managed and operated by the Housing Department, currently provides 155 parking spaces for private cars under the Park-and-Ride scheme.
