Existing Transport Infrastructure

The existing road infrastructure and railways as at the end of 2007 are shown in Figures 1, 2 and 3 respectively.

Major Road and Rail Infrastructure Projects

The major road infrastructure proposals on Hong Kong Island and in Kowloon and the New Territories are shown in Figures 4 and 5 respectively. Details of the major highway projects under construction and planning as at the end of 2007 are given in Tables 1.1 and 1.2 respectively.

The two committed railway projects under construction are listed in Table 1.3. The Kowloon Southern Link will connect the West Rail Line Nam Cheong Station with East Tsim Sha Tsui Station of the East Rail Line, with an intermediate station at West Kowloon. The Tseung Kwan O South Station is an extension of the Tseung Kwan O Line branching out from Tseung Kwan O Station. Railway projects under planning are shown in Figure 6 and listed in Table 1.4.
