For private cars and motorcycles (including motor tricycles), there is a transition charging arrangement to bridge those time slots with toll differential in an orderly manner to ensure road safety. In all transitional time slots, tolls across the three road harbour crossings gradually increase/decrease at an interval of a maximum of $2 per two minutes (for private cars) and $0.8 per two minutes (for motorcycles (including motor tricycles)). The transitional time slots kick in across the three road harbour crossings simultaneously.

Same as the previous surcharge arrangement, taxi passenger (if not hiring from a cross-harbour taxi stand) need to pay both the outbound ($25) and return tolls ($25) (i.e. $50 in total for a hired trip).
