Special Traffic News

    1. Due to emergency repair of road surface , the one-lane-two-way traffic arrangement is being implemented on Castle Peak Road - Chau Tau near Ho Sheung Heung Road.
    2. The only lane of the slip road leading from Tong Yan San Tsuen Interchange (Yuen Long bound) to Long Tin Road which was closed due to traffic accident is re-opened to all traffic. 
    3. Part of the lanes of Austin Road West (Hung Hom bound) near Canton Road which was closed due to traffic accident is re-opened to all traffic.
    4. Motorists are advised that, the number of cross-boundary private cars travelling to and from the Mainland and Macao via the land boundary control points may increase during the period from 9 May to early morning of 14 May 2025. Subject to actual traffic conditions, special traffic arrangements may be implemented at Lok Ma Chau Control Point and Shenzhen Bay Port from 9 May to early morning of 14 May 2025 to allow smooth access of public transport vehicles to above control points. Cross-boundary private cars may need to queue up for crossing the control points.

      Motorists are advised to pay extra attention to variable message signs and traffic signs along the road. They are also advised to be patient in case of traffic congestion, and follow the instructions of the on-site Police.
    5. Due to watermain emergency works , the one-lane-two-way traffic arrangement is being implemented on Tai Wo Hau Road near Shek Tau Street.
      Traffic is busy now.
    6. Transport Department has received notification from MTR Corporation Limited that as informed by the Mainland Railway Authorities, High Speed Rail (Hong Kong Section) will add the following temporary train trips on May 9 and 11:

      From Shenzhenbei Station to Hong Kong West Kowloon Station
      • May 9: Train G9531
      From Hong Kong West Kowloon Station to Guangzhounan Station
      • May 11: Train G9532

      Tickets are available for purchase through the 12306 official website (12306. cn/en/) or mobile app; appointed travel agents; or at Hong Kong West Kowloon Station.

    7. To facilitate road works, motorists are advised that parts of the traffic lanes between Cheung Tsing Highway near North West Tsing Yi Interchange and Tsing Ma Bridge of Lantau Link (Airport bound) near Tsing Yi Tower of Tsing Ma Bridge are temporarily closed, please visit TD’s webpage for details.

      Motorists are advised to use the carriageway of the lower deck of Tsing Ma Bridge to Airport when it is open, and drive with care and patience. Members of the public are advised to stay alert to the latest traffic news through the media or the TD's mobile application "HKeMobility" or website.
    8. Transport Department has received notification from MTR Corporation Limited that as informed by Mainland Railway Authorities, the following High Speed Rail train trips travelling between Hong Kong West Kowloon Station and Shanghai Hongqiao Station has been cancelled due to works in the mainland section.

      Cancellation dates:
      • May 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, 26

      Cancelled train service:
      • G900: To Shanghai Hongqiao Station
      • G899: From Shanghai Hongqiao Station

      Please refer to the High Speed Rail website and process your ticket refund within the time stated.
