Taxi Fleet Licence Invitation


          Notice is hereby given that applications are invited under regulations 12B(1) and 12B(2) of the Road Traffic (Public Service Vehicles) Regulations (Chapter 374D) for the issue of licences for the operation of taxi fleet. The licence period shall be five (5) years. Not more than five (5) taxi licences will be issued in this invitation.

          Starting from 11 a.m. on 12 April 2024 (Friday) (Hong Kong time), interested parties may obtain the invitation documents from the office of Taxi Section of the Transport Department on 14th Floor, South Tower, West Kowloon Government Offices, 11 Hoi Ting Road, Yau Ma Tei, Kowloon (Tel.: 3842 5820; Fax: 2824 2176) during office hours, or download such documents from the Transport Department's website (https://www.td.gov.hk/en/transport_in_hong_kong/public_transport/taxi/index.html). Applicants must complete and submit the form of application, service proposal and relevant supporting documents in accordance with the terms of the invitation documents.

          Applicants must enclose the completed form of application, service proposal and relevant supporting documents (one (1) original and seven (7) legible photocopies) in a sealed envelope with "Application for Taxi Fleet Licence 2024" clearly marked on the outside of the envelope (but there must not be any marking that would enable the applicant to be identified). Applications must be placed in the Transport Department Tender Box situated at the reception counter of the Transport Department Headquarters on 10th Floor, South Tower, West Kowloon Government Offices, 11 Hoi Ting Road, Yau Ma Tei, Kowloon before 12:00 noon on 31 May 2024 (Friday) (Hong Kong time). If tropical cyclone signal No. 8 or above is hoisted, or a black rainstorm warning signal or "extreme conditions after super typhoons" announced by the Government is/are in force at any time between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon on 31 May 2024 (Friday) (Hong Kong time), the application closing time will be postponed to 12:00 noon (Hong Kong time) on the first working day after the tropical cyclone signal No. 8 is lowered, or the black rainstorm warning signal or the "extreme conditions after super typhoons" announced by the Government has/have ceased to be in force. Late applications or applications not deposited in the Transport Department Tender Box will not be accepted.

          This notice does not constitute an offer or form part of the aforesaid invitation documents. The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region is not bound to grant any application and reserves the right to negotiate with any applicant about the conditions of licence.
