Tunnels

The government owns 21 road tunnels. Among them, Cross-Harbour Tunnel, Eastern Harbour Crossing, Western Harbour Crossing, Aberdeen Tunnel, Lion Rock Tunnel, Shing Mun Tunnels, Tate's Cairn Tunnel are tolled tunnels. Eagle's Nest Tunnel, Sha Tin Heights Tunnel and Tai Wai Tunnel in Tsing Sha Control Area are also tolled tunnels.

Meanwhile, there are a total of 11 toll-free government tunnels, including Tseung Kwan O Tunnel, Kai Tak Tunnel, Nam Wan Tunnel (Tsing Sha Control Area), Cheung Tsing Tunnel (Tsing Ma Control Area), Scenic Hill Tunnel which forms part of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Hong Kong Link Road, Airport Tunnel, Central-Wan Chai Bypass Tunnel, Lung Shan Tunnel and Cheung Shan Tunnel leading to the Heung Yuen Wai Control Point, Tuen Mun-Chek Lap Kok Tunnel, as well as the Tseung Kwan O – Lam Tin Tunnel. Transport Department awards contracts to different operators who would be responsible for the daily management, operation and maintenance of the tunnels.

Tai Lam Tunnel is operated by a private company under build-operate-transfer arrangements. The franchises of this tunnel will expire in 2025.

There is also a private tunnel, the Discovery Bay Tunnel, which was contructed and is currently operated by a private company. It opens only to vehicles taking goods or providing services to Discovery Bay.
 
Tunnels  

Bridges

The four major cable-supported bridges within Hong Kong's boundary are Tsing Ma Bridge, Kap Shui Mun Bridge, Ting Kau Bridge and Stonecutters Bridge. Tsing Ma Bridge and Kap Shui Mun Bridge carry both road and rail traffic. Tsing Ma Bridge, with a main span of 1.377 kilometers, is one of the world's longest span suspension bridges.

Tsing Ma Control Area

The Tsing Ma Control Area is a 21 kilometers expressway network which covers mainly Tsing Kwai Highway, Cheung Tsing Tunnel, Ting Kau Bridge, Tsing Ma Bridge and Kap Shui Mun Bridge.

Tsing Sha Control Area

The Tsing Sha Control Area is a 13 kilometers expressway network. It consists of Stonecutters Bridge, Nam Wan Tunnel, Eagle's Nest Tunnel, Sha Tin Heights Tunnel and Tai Wai Tunnel.
