Special Traffic News

    1. Due to vehicle breakdown , the fast lane of Princess Margaret Road (Cross Harbour Tunnel bound) near Oi Man Estate is closed to all traffic.
      Only remaining lanes are available to motorists.
      Traffic is busy now.
    2. Part of the lanes of Wai Yip Street (Yau Tong bound) near Hoi Yuen Road which was closed due to traffic accident is re-opened to all traffic.
    3. Due to traffic accident , all lanes of Wan Chai Road between Johnston Road and Cross Street are closed to all traffic.
      At the same time, all lanes of Tai Wo Street are closed to all traffic.
      Motorists are advised to use alternative routes.
      Traffic is busy now.
    4. Part of the lanes of Jordan Road (Hung Hom bound) near Lin Cheung Road which was closed due to traffic accident is re-opened to all traffic.
    5. The slow lane of Argyle Street (Mong Kok bound) near Gullane Road which was closed due to watermain emergency works is re-opened to all traffic.
    6. Concerts will be held this Saturday and Sunday (December 6 and 7) at the Kai Tak Stadium. As a large number of spectators is expected to disperse at the same time, the Transport Department (TD) urges those leaving the venue to take the MTR as far as possible.

      Details of Public Transport Services

      MTR:
      - The headway of the Tuen Ma Line will be enhanced to disperse spectators;
      - Of note, for cross-boundary travellers, the last train to Lo Wu Station on the East Rail Line via interchanging at Tai Wai Station will depart from Sung Wong Toi Station at 10.59pm and Kai Tak Station at 11.01pm;

      Special bus routes:
      - Eleven special bus routes have been arranged at the Sung Wong Toi Road Pick-up/Drop-off Area departing for ports and major districts across the territory;
      - Cross-boundary travellers may take route no. SP12 to Lok Ma Chau (San Tin) Public Transport Interchange and transfer to the Lok Ma Chau-Huanggang cross-boundary shuttle bus (Yellow Bus) to Lok Ma Chau/Huanggang (LMC/HG) Port; or route No. A25S to the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) Hong Kong Port and transfer to the HZMB shuttle bus (Gold Bus) to Macao and Zhuhai; and

      Taxis:
      - Taxi pick-up/drop-off area at the Kai Tak Stadium (G/F outside Gate H) is opened for taxi pick-up. In view of an outflux of spectators, the waiting time is anticipated to be longer and your patience is appreciated.

      Spectators are advised to take heed of the real-time information via on-site broadcast and the "Easy Leave" (easyleave. police. gov. hk) as well as the latest traffic news through the TD's website (www. td. gov. hk), the "HKeMobility" mobile application, radio and television broadcasts.

    7. As the slip road of Tolo Highway (Kowloon bound) to Tai Po Market has been reopened, motorists may use this road to Tai Po; while those on Tolo Highway (Sheung Shui bound) may use Tat Wan Road, Tai Po Tai Wo Road or Yuen Shin Road to Tai Po.

      Yet, the following road sections still remain closed:
      - Tai Po Road - Yuen Chau Tsai between Nam Wan Road and Tolo Highway (Kowloon bound)
      - Tai Po Road - Yuen Chau Tsai between Kwong Fuk Park and Marvelous Villa (Both bounds)
      - The slip road from Tolo Highway (Sheung Shui bound) to Tai Po Road - Yuen Chau Tsai
      - Kwong Wang Street (Both bounds)

      The TD has arranged variable message signs along Tolo Highway (Both bounds) to remind drivers using Tat Wan Road, Tai Po Tai Wo Road or Yuen Shin Road to Tai Po areas. The TD has temporarily changed the road markings at Tat Wan Road and the Tolo Highway slip road to ease traffic. Drivers please beware of the traffic lights, traffic signs, road markings there and drive safely.

      The TD anticipates that the traffic on Tai Po Road, Tolo Highway and roads in Tai Po town centre may still be busier during morning and evening peak hours. Members of the public are advised to avoid driving to the affected area, plan ahead their journeys and allow sufficient time for their journeys.

      Due to a number of road sections in Tai Po are closed, the following 38 daytime bus routes will be diverted:

      ^Morning Peak Special Departures
      *Upon the TD's co-ordination with KMB, starting from their first departures, route nos. 72, 72A, 73A and 74A will be diverted to Tai Po Road - Tai Po Kau via Yau King Lane to take passengers from the affected areas in Tai Po to Sha Tin and urban areas, reducing disruption to commute especially during peak hours

      For the latest service arrangement of individual bus routes, members of the public can refer to the information on the bus company's website or mobile application.
      Citizens please take note bus services travelling the above road sections have been affected. Please use MTR services as far as possible.

      Members of the public are also advised to pay attention to the latest traffic information released on radio, TV, and the "HKeMobility" mobile application.
    8. Transport Department has received notification from MTR Corporation Limited that in view of the transportation needs near the Tai Po area, the train frequency will be enhanced on the relevant section of the East Rail Line during peak hours to ease passenger flow. Extra MTR staff will also be deployed at relevant stations to assist passengers. MTR Buses for Tai Po area will also enhance service for the residents.
    9. To facilitate the arrangement of setting up a traffic coordination depot for the 15th National Games of the People’s Republic of China, the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and the 9th National Special Olympic Games, the entire 7/F and 8/F (including 77 numbers of EV charging facilities) of Rumsey Street Carpark will be temporarily closed to the public from 2 October 2025 to 30 December 2025.

      Affected motorists can continue to use the parking facilities on 1/F to 6/F of Rumsey Street Car Park or make use of other car parks in the vicinity during the above period. Appropriate traffic signs will be erected on site to guide motorists. Motorists are advised to follow the instructions on site and drive with care and patience.
