
Introduction
The Southbound Travel for Guangdong Vehicles ("STGV") (entry into urban area) accepts online applications only. The applications are jointly reviewed and approved by the governments of Guangdong and Hong Kong. Applicants should first submit their applications and supporting documents to the Mainland authorities for preliminary vetting. The Transport Department ("TD") will then review the applications upon receipt of the applications, and notify the applicants by the email addresses which they provided during the Mainland application process for carrying out vehicle inspection at designated vehicle inspection centres and completing the procedures for obtaining permits in Hong Kong.

Applicants must fulfill the eligibility requirements prescribed under the "Management Measures for Guangdong Motor Vehicles Entering and Leaving Hong Kong via the Zhuhai Port of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge", and submit their STGV applications according to the application procedures.

- Booking for Travel
Travellers who have been issued the STGV permits and have completed the necessary procedures with the Mainland authorities must register through the STGV Booking System before travelling to Hong Kong via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge.

Applicants are advised to download the mobile applications commonly used by Hong Kong drivers, such as "HKeMobility", "Octopus" and "HKeToll" before travelling to Hong Kong for advance preparation. These apps provide access to real-time traffic updates, information on parking and charging facilities in various districts, and facilitate seamless access to Hong Kong's car parks and road tunnels. Applicants should also familiarise themselves with the guidelines and information on emergency vehicle support issued by the TD of the HKSAR Government.
